On the west coast of Karpathos, under the shadow of the high and imposing rocks that make up its landscape of wild beauty, is the small and quiet bay of Finiki. While the origin of the name is lost in the depths of the centuries, it seems to come from the famous Phoenician merchants who anchored in it's quiet waters to trade their products with the inhabitants of the island before continuing their journey.
Today the village gets visitors from all around the world, who come here to relax in the stillness of the small, picturesque & romantic village, and to find relief in the calm and clean waters of the sea. In Mama "Kokona" Cuisine guests also have the opportunity to taste the freshest and best made fish dishes and other greek delicacies in an idyllic setting, with the sound of the waves accompanying their meal.
Why Kokona? The name is a tribute to Nektarios beloved grandmother, Ms. Kokona, to which the building originally belonged to. The term Kokona, used by the inhabitants of the island refers to beauty and kindness and it accompanied young girls as a compliment through their lives.
